Child and Family Research Institute
The mandate of Live 5-2-1-0 is to provide clear and concise information (through four simple and easy to remember guidelines) to help families understand proper childhood nutrition and physical activity. The 5-2-1-0 message is evidence-based, originating from recommendations by the Childhood Obesity: Assessment, Prevention and Treatment Expert Committee and is endorsed by the Canadian Pediatric Society.
Working with the team at Sustainable Childhood Obesity Prevention through Community Engagement (SCOPE BC) unit within the Child and Family Research Institute, the goal with this project was to develop a pragmatic social strategy that engaged both stakeholders (decision makers in different sectors of the community) and families. Staff training and community management support by Aliyah Jessa helped the Live 5-2-1-0 team activate their online tools and tell their story.
